Key Stage One Trip to Hesketh Farm
As part of our topic comparing the Yorkshire Dales and Kilimanjaro, we visited Hesketh Farm near Bolton Abbey. We had a fantastic day learning all about farming in the Yorkshire Dales, and were amazed by the beautiful scenery.
Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Week
So far we have been thinking about how to keep our bodies healthy. We practiced brushing our teeth!
Maths – ordinal numbers
We have been learning about ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd…). We have loved spending time outside taking part in races and claiming our medal with our finishing position.
Class 1S had a fantastic time searching school for ‘pieces of sky’! We found lots of them around school and in the wildlife area, then we rushed back to tell the King! We have loved our class book – Chicken Licken.
This week we have been creating art work made from recyclable materials. We have used plastic bottles to create giant dandelions, and bottle tops to make our own ocean view. We also worked with the artist Jill Randall to create sculptures of sea creatures. We took part in music, drama and dance workshops.
We had a fantastic time with our grown-ups making maps of our journey to school.
