Hesketh Farm Trip – 5th July

Year 2 had an amazing time on their trip to Hesketh Farm in the Yorkshire Dales! The children had the opportunity to handle chicks and guinea pigs, feed calves and even go on a rather bumpy tractor ride. Thank you to everyone for your support in helping this trip be a huge success!

Arts Fortnight

During our Arts Fortnight Year 2 have been involved in lots of different activities focusing on our theme of The Natural World such as Drama workshops, sculpting with clay, and much much more! (More pictures to follow!)

Science Walk

It may be Spring Term but it is certainly still winter outside! To tie in with our ongoing Science observations of the weather and seasons, we took a walk around the school grounds to see what signs of winter we could find. We saw lots of bare trees, felt the bitter winds and even found some ice!

Christmas Church Visit

To tie in with our RE topic of Beliefs, we took a visit to Wrenthorpe Methodist Church. We retold the story of the Nativity (and even got to wear some costumes!) and discussed why we have certain traditions during the Christmas period. Thank you Reverend Drost for a fun filled morning of festive activities!

Room on the Broom Adventure Trail – 3rd October.

Year 2 had a fantastic time at Anglers Country Park on Wednesday 3rd October. Children and staff took part in the Room on the Broom Adventure Trail at the park; following footsteps, reading clues and discovering amazing wooden sculptures of some of the story’s characters! Thank you to all who helped make this trip a success.
